As a feminist I do not think that demonising men is a good strategy - because I do not believe men are demons, I also do not believe that most men are uncivilised brutes or potential rapists. I would agree with you that men are often sympathetic to women's needs. However, I also recognise that there is persistent inquality in the UK and globally, and many women and men want to do something about this.
Sadly, 2 women a week are killed by a current or former partner, 85% of victims of domestic violence are women, 2000 women are raped every week in the UK, and the conviction rate for rape is only 6%. In our democracy only 22% of MPs are women. In 2004 women graduates earned 15% less than men who had the same qualifications within 5 years of graduating. 30,000 women a year lose their jobs because they pregnant, 1 in 5 women returning from maternity leave are given lower grade jobs. Inequality doesn't just effect women of course, for instance men can not take the same amount of time to spend with their new born child as a woman has a right to. Men can be part of the feminist movement too, because it is a movement for equality not for female dominance. If equality is a feminist utopia then I don't think a feminist utopia is too much to ask for.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Women know this, and perhaps the greatest female instinct is the vocalisation of grievances (real or imagined). Women have been profiting from the hard work of men for millennia thanks to this. In modern times, they have managed to shame men into creating mechanisms by which women can profit from the work of others by making noise (family courts, employment tribunals, the welfare state, marriage, 'positive action' legislation, etc). Men are generally very sympathetic to women's needs, even those of the feminists who often portray them as uncivilised brutes and potential rapists, but the feminist movement doesn't seem to realise that exploiting and demonising men is not a good long-term strategy. Men see that many women don't like honest competition and meritocracy, and are running to the courts, the media, 'equalities officers', etc when their fragile feelings get hurt. It's a perilous path we're walking down in trying to create the feminist utopia, favoured only by a vocal minority in Britain and other Western countries.

Because Jo, that is two women. You may be forgetting that there are 52% of us. That's not a minority, why should we accept being treated like it is?

A woman is currently leading the Labour party and one is indeed in the leadership contest - how can you call that a 'lack' of women?

Would we like more? Sure. But credit where credit's cue.
