A great meeting last night and a lively debate covering a whole specturm of issues around the portrayal of women in the media – from the issues of air-brushing and body image, to ageism on television and the role that advertisers and commissioners of television can play in how the women, we see on our screens or in the magazines we read, look.

Jo Swinson MP and others mentioned several links and other ways to get involved with various other campaigns – for information most of them are listed below. If I’ve missed one out please leave it in the comments.

The Equity petition on the Equal Representation of Women in TV/Film can be found here.
More information on Jo’s Real Women Campaign can be found here and you can follow developments on Twitter @RealWomenLD.

Don’t forget that you can also join the Progressive Women facebook group and you can now follow us on Twitter @sylviapankhurst.

We’re already planning more exciting discussions for 2010 – if there’s anything you’d like to suggest please do let us know. Mary
